FURNITURE BUILDING

This is my first project from knockoffwood.blogspot.com  CAUTION you may start building furniture if you view this blog. it is so great and she is in Alaska which makes it even better. I  made a few changes to the entry bench, I added the 2 shelves so we would have more room for kid shoes and sandals. the plan has a backing as well ,but since i have it outside i'm not sure i will add the back. the bottom moulding/trim is still white primer.  i'm not sure what color to make it but the white will be painted maybe the same color as the bench. which some people( Chad) are not crazy about my color choices. I  wanted it to be a little beachy and I've been saving this paint sample for years not knowing what i could use this color on.
2nd project I started while working on the first one. chad was helping to get the wood cut the rest was all my doing.
Madeline's new big girl bed! she has been so excited to finally have it in her room  and she requested pink. painting in the garage i was worried it wasn't pink enough to make her happy but,  we got it in her room and it looks pinker. this is the farmhouse bed from knockoffwoood.blogspot I used new Martha Stewart paint from home depot its low vocs. I felt it was safer for a kids room. and it doesn't have smelly fumes to paint.  These plans are all quite easy to follow most say to use a nailer, we just used a drill with some good screws and a saw  ohh and sandpaper. which I may go purchase                                                                                          a power sander tomorrow.
new butterflies fluttering over her bed.she was so excited she chose where to put them. she made a good decision. its so nice to finally get her mattress up off the floor . 1 done 2 more to go. then I can start on bookcases to put toys on in the kids closets and nightstands. we got the wood to make masons bed but havent't started cutting yet.

WEEKEND PROJECT  chad made a picnic table for the kids called the bigger kids picnic table also from knock off wood. I need to find the photo to add on here. it still needs sanded and painted. he made it last saturday afternoon it is very sturdy and heavy  the kids won't be able to tip this one.  A fun idea if its in the sun:  drill out a hole in the center of the top to hold a beach umbrella.I'm going to need to look for a new umbrella for the kids picnic table
